RLB 2014 Playoff Preview
MILWAUKEE - The playoff veteran Beavers enter another postseason with hopes of not just making it to the championship, but winning one for themselves. Over the past three years, they have watched the Builders (twice) and Tigers celebrate in front of them instead. Again the Beavers have taken care of regular season business with a 14-4 RLB record and a 2nd straight American Division title. The season included a 9-game RBL winning streak as well as a strong showing in the Wisconsin Amateur Baseball Classic late in the year. Milwaukee hopes that a deeper pitching rotation and new young talent, along with steady veteran leadership, will lead them to a 2014 title.
The Irish, Mudhens, and Titans stand in the Beav's way in the American League. Milwaukee swept the Titans and split with the Irish and Hens. The Builders are the class of the National League and barring any upsets, should make another championship appearance.
The Beavers earned a 2-round bye and will play their first game on Sunday, August 3rd at 7pm. They will face the winner of Pirates/Firebirds vs. Titans. The winner advances to a 3-game Division Championship Series, followed by the 3-game Championship Series.
